LOCATION 5 DIVEGHAT

Identification:

Title:LOCATION 5 DIVEGHAT
Type:Outcrop
Date of visit:2025-11-15
Investigator/Author:DUTTA, MEDHA
Description:Presence of cavity mineralisation below red bole. Main section is vesicular and amygdaloidal, showing clear secondary mineral pockets. The vesicles are randomly scattered across the flow and give the rock a porous appearance. No weathered joints were observed, indicating limited surface alteration. This is a simple flow with no compound structures evident. The red bole beneath the overlying flow is compact, showing a well-developed paleosol. The red horizon above is highly compact and appears unchanged. The reduced horizon is exposed clearly in the present location. Vertical and wide-spaced joints are weathered, but not equally spaced.

Geology:

Age (Chronostratigraphy):Upper Cretaceous - Paleocene
Geological province:DVP
Lithostratigraphy:Vesicular and amygdaloidal lava. Randomly distributed vesicles. Simple flow structure with no compound flows. Compact red bole and compact red horizon. Reduced horizon clearly visible. Vertical joints: wide spaced, unevenly spaced, weathered.
Lithology:Cavity minerals collected from vesicles below the red bole. Vesicles filled with secondary minerals (as written: no specific mineral names were written here, so none added Red bole material and reduced horizon fragments.
